The evolving coronavirus outbreak requires us to regularly evaluate and alter our daily practices in order to maintain the utmost safety to you and our staff while we continue to deliver the highest quality healthcare to our patients.  We realize that this outbreak has created a great deal of confusion, concern and alterations in everyone’s daily lives and even a sense of insecurity for many.  Our goal is to continue to be your family’s source for sound advice, medical expertise and care.  We continue to open our doors to your family for well and illness care and to remain compassionate to your needs and concerns during this time.  Please read below for how we can best care for you and your children.

Well Visits and Conferences (Springfield Office Only):

If your child has a well visit or conference, you will receive a call from our office to confirm or change the appointment.  Even if your child’s appointment is in our Springfield office, his or her appointment may need to be rescheduled due to a change in the location of the provider for that day.  Please feel free to call our office to confirm your child’s appointment at any time, but you can expect a call from us.  We will be seeing well newborn hospital follow up appointments in our Springfield office only on Mondays – Fridays.

  • We ask that only one guardian accompany your child in order to decrease any unnecessary exposures.  Please bring only the child to be seen to the appointment.

  • You will be greeted inside the door by a staff member to ensure that you and your child are well.

  • If you or your child are not feeling well, we ask out of consideration to others that you stay home and not come to the appointment.  In this way, we will make every attempt to keep our Springfield office illness-free.

  • If there is a wait, and you would prefer to wait in your car for your appointment, please give the staff member your phone number so that we can call you in your car when we are ready for you.

Illness Visits (Fair Ridge Office Only:  Walk-in from 8 AM – 3:45 PM)  Please note the change

We are fully staffed, and should be able to get your child seen in a timely fashion.  You will not need to wait in the waiting room.

  • We ask that only one guardian accompany your child(ren) in order to decrease any unnecessary exposures.  Please bring only the child(ren) to be seen to the appointment.

  • You will be greeted inside the door by a staff member.  They will ask you the nature of the illness visit.

  • If regardless of the reason for your child’s illness visit, you prefer to wait in your car for your appointment, please give the staff member your telephone number so that we can call you when we are ready for you.

  • Depending on the reason for your child’s illness visit, you may be asked to wait in your car.  We will take your telephone number so that we can call you when we are ready for you.

  • If your child(ren) are coming in for fever and cough without a runny nose/congestion, shortness of breath, or there is a known exposure to someone with coronavirus, we ask that you do not come up to our office, but rather call ahead and wait in your car for us to call you back.

Telemedicine Appointments:

Telemedicine visits will be available in most cases for the following types of visits:

  • conferences involving ADHD

  • social/emotional and behavioral health

  • some minor illnesses

There may be some situations for which we will still recommend an in-person visit.  We will continue to advise patients to come in for concerns such as strep throat, ear infections, urinary tract infections, fevers below a certain age or any illness for which we feel an in-person examination or lab work to be necessary to make a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

  • If a telemedicine appointment is felt to be appropriate, you will be given an appointment time with a specific provider and a link for the appointment by email.

  • If you have an upcoming conference for ADHD/Social and Emotional Health/Behavioral Health and you prefer to do your visit by teleconference, please call our office so that we can convert your appointment to a teleconference.

  • Telemedicine appointments are HIPAA compliant.

  • If possible, it is best for you to use a computer rather than a phone so that the provider can see both you and your child.

  • The visit will be billed to your insurance company.

Saturday Hours:

Unchanged.  Fair Ridge Office Only.  Walk-in hours from 9 AM – 11:30 AM.

Please stay healthy and continue to follow increasingly important good hygiene practices.  Also, please understand that the coronavirus outbreak is an ever-evolving situation, and we may need to change our schedule as the pandemic changes.  We thank you in advance for your flexibility and patience.

Sincerely,
