MOHAMMAD JARVANDI, MD, FAAP
Dr. Jarvandi received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University and his Doctor of Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his Pediatric residency at St. Luke’s - Roosevelt Hospital of Columbia University in New York and at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children of University of Virginia.
Dr. Jarvandi has been active in teaching medical students, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants for over 18 years serving as Attending Physician Clinical Instructor for top medical programs across the country including: University of Virginia, Georgetown University Hospital, Boston University School of Medicine, and Indiana University.
Dr. Jarvandi is on the active staff of Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. He also worked in Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center as a staff Pediatrician managing acutely ill patients in the ER and on the Pediatric Floor for 10 years.
Dr. Jarvandi has consistently been voted one of Washington DC’s Very Best Doctors in Pediatrics, receiving a Top Doctor award in Washingtonian Magazine in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2014. He earned a Patients' Choice Award in 2014 and 2008 and Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2014.
Dr. Jarvandi is honored to work every day with children and their families. He feels it is a privilege to be entrusted with children’s care from birth through adolescence to young adulthood and finds each day to be very rewarding. He could not imagine doing anything else. He has a special interest in infectious disease, behavioral issues, dietary habits, and how environmental changes affect pediatric health. He lives on a farm in Northern Virginia with his beautiful wife, four daughters, and many horses and dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, working on the farm, and gardening. Dr. Jarvandi has been in practice since 2002 and sees patients primarily at our Fair Ridge office.
